MusiCares® has named five-time GRAMMY® winner and 2024 Recording Academy® Global Impact Award honoree Mariah Carey as the 2026 MusiCares Person of the Year. Carey, one of the most celebrated voices in music, will be honored for her extraordinary career as well as her long-standing commitment to supporting communities and people in need. The 35th annual Person of the Year benefit gala will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Friday, Jan. 30, 2026, two nights before the 2026 GRAMMY Awards® at Crypto.com Arena.

MusiCares®, the leading music charity supporting the health and wellness of music professionals, has partnered with Maven Clinic, the world’s largest virtual clinic for women’s and family health. This collaboration expands MusiCares’ commitment to holistic support by providing eligible music professionals with free access to Maven’s inclusive virtual care and support. The platform offers personalized care across every stage of life, including family planning, fertility, maternity, parenting, mental health, and menopause.

MusiCares®, the leading charity supporting the health and well-being of the music community, will host the second annual Mindful May, presented in collaboration with Sweetwater. The event will take place on May 21 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Riverside Revival in Nashville, offering a restorative experience to support the unique mental, physical and emotional needs of music professionals during Mental Health Awareness Month.

MusiCares® has named iconic rock band the Grateful Dead as the 2025 MusiCares Persons of the Year. In celebration of the band's 60th anniversary, original members Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Phil Lesh, and Bobby Weir will be recognized for their immense contributions to music, their tireless philanthropic efforts and their pioneering role in fostering communities through their concerts and activism. The special night will also include posthumous tributes to Jerry Garcia, one of the band’s founders. The 34th annual Persons of the Year benefit gala will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Friday, Jan. 31, 2025, two nights before the 67th Annual GRAMMY Awards® at Crypto.com Arena.

GRAMMY® Award-winning artists Bon Jovi, Melissa Etheridge, Jason Isbell, Bruce Springsteen, and Shania Twain, along with GRAMMY Award nominees Brandy Clark, Damiano David of Måneskin, Goo Goo Dolls, Jelly Roll, Marcus King, The War And Treaty, and Lainey Wilson will perform at MusiCares ® Person of the Year benefit gala honoring GRAMMY Award winner, 11-time nominee and founding member of American rock band Bon Jovi, Jon Bon Jovi, on Feb. 2, 2024, two days before the GRAMMY Awards® Telecast. The 33rd annual benefit gala will be hosted by GRAMMY-nominated comedian Jim Gaffigan. Joining the evening’s host will be presenters Gayle King and GRAMMY Award-winning musician Kylie Minogue.

MusiCares® has named Jon Bon Jovi, GRAMMY® Award winner, 11-time GRAMMY Award nominee, and founding member of American rock band Bon Jovi, as the 2024 MusiCares Person of the Year. He is the honoree of the 33rd annual Person of the Year benefit gala. Proceeds from the event will provide essential support for MusiCares, the leading music charity providing music professionals health and human services across a spectrum of needs. The tribute will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Fri, Feb. 2, 2024, two nights before the 66th Annual GRAMMY Awards® at Crypto.com Arena on Sun, Feb. 4, 2024.

Gordy and Robinson are the honorees of the 32nd annual Persons of the Year benefit gala.

MusiCares® has appointed Theresa Wolters as the Vice President of Health & Human Services, effective immediately. Wolters will report to Executive Director of MusiCares Laura Segura, and is in charge of developing, implementing and overseeing MusiCares' programs and services nationally. She is responsible for executing and advancing the vision and direction of all mission-based programs and services for MusiCares, which include emergency financial assistance, mental health and addiction recovery programs, social and preventive health care services, and disaster relief efforts. Wolters joins the charity and its work in offering music industry members a safety net of health and human services across a spectrum of needs.

GRAMMY® Award-winning artists Brandi Carlile, Shawn Colvin, Jason Isbell, Jesse & Joy, k.d. lang, and Fantastic Negrito, Latin GRAMMY Award winners Gian Marco and Dante Spinetta, GRAMMY Award nominee Amythyst Kiah, along with Fitz of Fitz and the Tantrums, morgxn, Zach Person, and Emily Wolfe will join the performance lineup at the MusiCares®: Music on a Mission Presented by Gibson on Wed, March 30, 2022, at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET. The evening will also feature a never-before-seen MusiCares® performance from GRAMMY Award-winning artist Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

GRAMMY® Award-winning artists Sara Bareilles, Beck, Leon Bridges, Brandi Carlile, Lauren Daigle, Herbie Hancock, Chaka Khan, Angélique Kidjo, Cyndi Lauper, Pentatonix, Billy Porter, Stephen Stills, and St. Vincent and GRAMMY Award nominees Jon Batiste, Black Pumas, Mickey Guyton, and Allison Russell are set to perform at the 31st annual MusiCares® Person of the Year benefit gala honoring Joni Mitchell on Fri, April 1, 2022. The evening will also feature a remote performance from GRAMMY Award-winning artist Graham Nash. Jon Batiste and Brandi Carlile, each nominated for multiple GRAMMY Awards this year, will also serve as Artistic Directors for the night, a first for Person of the Year.

Although music venues are scheduling shows again, the music community across the U.S. is still feeling the residual effects of the pandemic. To further help the music community this holiday season, MusiCares® is bringing back its Help for the Holidays program.

MusiCares® announced today that Joni Mitchell, eight-time GRAMMY® Award winner and 16-time GRAMMY Award nominee, has been chosen as the 2022 MusiCares® Person of the Year. Mitchell is the honoree of the 31st annual Person of the Year benefit gala.

MusiCares®, the leading music charity supporting the health and welfare of the music community, announced today that it is distributing a final round of funding for COVID-19 Relief. The effort continues the support for music professionals, concluding upon distribution of the $2 million raised during Music on a Mission, to be directly distributed to 2,000 eligible applicants. Although the pandemic relief will be coming to a close, the need for support remains high, and MusiCares is dedicated to helping all professionals in the industry through existing and new mental health and hardship grant programs and virtual support groups, among other programs.

In conjunction with the Amy Winehouse Foundation, founded to inspire children and young people to build their self-esteem and resilience, MusiCares® announces the one-of-a-kind NFT (non-fungible token) from photographer Charles Moriarty with visual artist Mark Palkoski to benefit MusiCares and the Amy Winehouse Foundation, a registered charity.
